Bye Bye

IT cosmetics makes a first appearance on the blog. While I’ve never tried any other products from the line, many YouTubers and makeup reviewers/bloggers rave about certain IT cosmetics products.  IT cosmetics is known for being more on the affordable side but it is only available online, not yet making it to places such as Sephora. This IT cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation has gotten a lot of review and hype. With SPF 50 and other skincare elements, this product functions as more than just foundation.  However, with only four shades available, it can be difficult to find your correct shade. What are your thoughts on this product?

Bye Bye

Milk for Your Hair?

When a friend and I first saw this rose and apricot hair milk at Whole Foods, we were stopped in our tracks by the word, “milk.”  While milk for hair seems like a strange concept, this John Masters haircare rose & apricot hair milk works as a type of leave-in conditioner, providing moisturizer and conditioner at the same time without leaving hair feeling oily and weighed down.

Roomie Recommendation

First Benefit product on the blog! This recommendation comes from another housemate who’s been looking for a new foundation, previously using the Laura Mercier one that everyone and their mother uses.  Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation feels lightweight but can actually provide full coverage.

Krazy for Kat Von D

Out of all the liquid lipsticks, I have to say my Kat Von D ones get the most use. The above shades are Bow N Arrow and Lolita II, which are pretty neutral shades.  The small application tip allows for easy, clean application so most times I don’t even need to use lip liner.  The formula lasts extremely long and isn’t too overdrying.  When it comes to liquid lipsticks, it’s easy to find ones that last forever but emphasize the cracks in my lips.  Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks don’t do that and feel like nothing on my lips. 10/10 would recommend!

This recommendation comes from a fellow housemate who, like me, wears winged eyeliner everyday.  You know when someone has a favorite felt tip liner that it must be good because winged eyeliner can be the death of me sometimes.  Tarte So Fine takes first place, even over Kan Von D’s Tattoo liner and Dolly Wink.

While the tip is fine, a thicker wing can also easily be made by turning the angle of the tip. This sort of triangular tip makes it easy to control your winged liner.  You know those days when you have to just keep making your wing bigger and longer because you keep messing it up?  This liner works to keep your eyes from flying away.

Natural Skincare

For the longest time, I thought adding oil to your skin was just asking for acne.  However, I’ve recently realized the myth in this mindset and gotten over my fear of oil.  Recently, instead of my go-to facial moisturizer, I’ve been using a mix of a few drops of argan oil and rosehip oil on my face before bed.

While argan oil works as a lightweight moisturizer, rosehip oil works as an anti-aging product and scar treatment, preventing wrinkles, discoloration, and uneven skin tone.  Can’t really say I’ve ever found all of that in any other moisturizer. Not to mention it’s a natural product that doesn’t cost as much as the Sephora face serums claiming to do the same thing.  Rather than spending the usual $30 or more on moisturizer, I bought the argan oil for a few dollars at Trader Joes and the rosehip oil for about the same amount at Whole Foods.

Kylie Cosmetics: Yay or Nay?

IMG_5061Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard all the hype about Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick.  In fact, this post is pretty late to the game as Kylie is well on her way to releasing her new Velvet line of liquid lipsticks. The colors featured above are Dolce K, True Brown K, and Candy K.

While the formula can be a little drying, I’ve found that applying a little lipbalm over them saves me.  Out of the three colors, Dolce K definitely gets the most use and is the color most similar to the shade of lip that made Kylie Jenner’s lip fillers as famous as they are today.  While I’m not sure I can say the same about the celeb herself, I’m really impressed with these matte liquid lipsticks.
